"And therefore, e, to the i times pi, plus one equals zero." Bizzie looked
back at the class. They were all staring at her blankly, as though she weren't
even there. Finally, Mrs. Secant clapped and the rest of the class snapped out
of their trance.
"Excellent presentation, Bizzie."
"Thank you, Mrs. Secant," Bizzie said as she sat down. The bell wrang and the
rest of the class quickly bolted out of the room, except for Jeffy who stayed
and waited for Bizzie while she attempted to lift her backpack.
"Bizzie, hurry up, I've got to get to baseball!"
"But I can't pick up my backpack, Jeffy!" Jeffy glared at her.
"Bizzie, you didn't even pack up yet!"
"I know, but this is way heavy."
"Here, how about you carry my backpack and I'll carry yours."

"Here you go, Bizzie." The second he let go of his backpack, it dropped on
Bizzie's foot.
"Ahhhhhhh! Get it off me!"
"What?"
"The backpack! It weighs 100 pounds! It's squashing my toes!" Jeffy rolled his
eyes and picked up his backpack.
"Biz, I can't believe how weak you are."
"I am not weak, I'm just muscularly challenged."
"Yeah, like I am."
"Hey, here comes Hanni and Roger!" exclaimed Jeffy.
"Hey guys," said Bizzie.
"Bizzie, omigod, oh my GOD! I just had the BEST IDEA!" Bizzie stared at her.
Hanni didn't usually talk like that.
"What is it, Hanni?"
"We should have a sleepover on Sunday night, and invite Arpi, and Mel, and...
and we can give each other makeovers!"
"Sure, that sounds great!" exclaimed Bizzie.
"I can't believe you guys are into those things," Jeffy said in disgust,
"Sleepovers are so girly."
"Well, we're girls, what else would we do?"
"I can think of plenty of things," Jeffy said with a wicked grin. "I mean, there's sewing, knitting, crocheting..."
"In your dreams!" said Bizzie, "Now, let's get ready to party!"
"Oh, no" cried Arpiana, "It's 3:12 and Hanni's bus left already! I wanted to find her and ask her why she wasn't at the protest.
"What protest?" asked Jeffy.
"Mark's old girlfriend did an extremely dramatic interpretation of the homeless being evicted from the 11th street lot."
"What 11th street lot?"
"You wouldn't understand."
"Anyway, Hanni and Bizzie are having a dumb sleepover on Sunday and-"
"There's going to be a sleepover?!" All of a sudden, Arpi got really excited.
"Sleepover?" asked Mark, "Cool!"
"Mark, I hate to break this to you, but I think it's a girls only sleepover."
"Oh, darn."
"I'll bring my special stash of makeup," Arpi told them, "And sci-fi movies,
and extra packs of mint chews!"
"I can't believe I'm going to have another dull weekend," said Mark.
"I know!" exclaimed Arpi, "We can all go to see that new movie 'The Life Cafe'
on Sunday night and then all the girls can come over to my house for a
sleepover!"
"Great!" said Mark, "Maybe we can sing songs about living in Bohemia and dance on the chairs."
"Mark, what are you talking about?"
"In New York, Roger and I had a party with our friends and sang songs about living in Bohemia and--"
"You can tell me all about it later. First, we have to find the others!"
"I can't believe Mark actually got up and starting singing along!" exclaimed Arpiana after the movie.
"Yeah," said Hanni, "I really don't think that the people sitting behind us were too thrilled."
"Where's Mel?" asked Bizzie, who had just been informed of Mel A.'s misadventures.
"She and Roger just took off," said Arpiana.
"So they're back together?"
"I guess." The three girls approached Arpiana's house and walked up the stairs to her room.
"So, what do you guys want to do?" asked Arpi, "We could watch videos, eat mint chews, play--"
"Let's give eachother makeovers!" cried Hanni abruptly.
"Okay," said Bizzie, rather shocked at Hanni's enthusiasm, "That'd be great."
"Let's do Bizzie first!"
"Why me?"
"Because! Now, you wait here while Arpi and I get our makeup from the other room." Bizzie and Arpi stared blankly, but agreed. Arpi followed a rather nervous Hanni into the next room.
"Hanni, have you finally lost it?" asked Arpiana.
"Listen!" she whispered back, "See, Dr. Claw...we need to...he wants me to..."
"What?"
"There's no time to explain," Hanni said abruptly, "But we have to dye Bizzie's hair purple."
"Hanni, you're crazy! Bizzie would never allow that."
"I know, but this is a matter of life and death. Now, take this hair mascara, and run it through Bizzie's hair, and tell her that it's special gel." Arpi hesitantly took the box from her friend.
"How will the dye stay in?"
"The box said two days, so it won't be THAT bad."
"But Hanni, tomorrow's the math fair! You expect Bizzie to get up in front of all those people and lecture about pi with purple hair?"
"I have no other choice, I'm being monitored, look!" Arpi looked at Hanni's wrist.
"Hey, cool watch!"
"It's not a watch!"
"Yes it is, where'd you get it!"
"Grrrrr, Arpi, just help me, okay?"
"Fine, fine." The two went back into Arpi's room.
"Bizzie, you ready?"
"Yep! You know, I really think I need a change."
"That you do. You know, I heard Kenny say that he thinks you need a new look." Bizzie raised an eyebrow.
"You serious?"
"Totally! Now close your eyes and get ready for the new Bizzie."
